President's Message for 2015
Dear Valued Advocis Member,
I hope everyone enjoyed the holiday season with friends and family, and that you took the opportunity to recharge and prepare for what is sure to be an exciting 2015!
As we prepare to embark on another year I think it is important that we all take time to recognize our accomplishments from 2014 and establish our new goals for this year.
Advocis had many successes to celebrate in 2014. Initiatives such as the Advocis commissioned PWC “Sound Advice-Insights into Canada’s Financial Advice Industry” study and the 1*2*3 Grow Advocis program were launched with successful feedback and results. The Provincial Action Committee was also very busy throughout 2014 and had a very effective Alberta Legislature in Edmonton in November. For more information on all the great work being done by the PAC I invite you to read the December blog from our PAC Chair, Mr. Mike Bibby.
Our annual survey will be going out this week as well. It has been shortened and will take you less than 5 minutes to complete. Your feedback is extremely important to us – it lets us know how we’ve been doing and what should be changed going forward. Please take a few minutes to complete it!
We are excited for what 2015 brings for the Chapter as well. We have a fabulous slate of Educational days lined up for the year with informative and engaging speakers already in place for the events. We will also be hosting our three social events as well, and have some great talent in place for our Annual Sales Congress day in March.
I want to thank our sponsors for their generosity in support of the Calgary Chapter in 2014 as it would not be possible for us to offer the programs and benefits that we do with your support.
A special thank you as well to all the volunteers at our various events throughout the year. You are too many to name individually but you are the backbone of the chapter and the time and effort put forth by each and every one of you is truly appreciated!
I wish each of you a healthy and prosperous 2015.
Non Solis Nobis.
Andrew Thorburn
2014/15 Advocis Calgary Chapter President
